Kitchen God Worshipping
Today, the annual ritual of kitchen god worshipping was held in Shiwan, and the ceremony was also held to celebrate the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln with the title of "National Industrial Heritage". The calligraphers from the Foshan Calligraphers Association wrote the spring festival couplets at the scene and gave them to the public free of charge. The Cantonese opera performances from the Shiwan Opera Association were very lively and bustling.
In the ritual of kitchen god worshipping, the ritualist read out the rural orations, and led the potters and citizens to pay respect to the God of Fire and pray for the prosperous development in 2020.
The pottery statue of the God of Fire is very distinctive and respectful, with the wind-fire rings under feet, which has been worshiped by the people of Shiwan for long! The pottery in Shiwan is well-known all over the world. The people in Shiwan are grateful for the virtue of fire, and have worshipped the Dragon Kiln and the rise of fire for thousands of years. There is a saying for the God of Fire "benefiting the world, protecting the people and denoting the achievements".

Celebration Ceremony of "National Industrial Heritage"
At 11:00 a.m., the ceremony to celebrate the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln with the title of "National Industrial Heritage" was formally launched.
A number of leaders and guests attended the ceremony, including Qiu Shaofeng, Deputy Director of Chancheng District Committee and District Office, Li Kai, Director of Chancheng District Economic and Technological Promotion Bureau, Li Guosen, Deputy Director of Chancheng District Economic and Technological Promotion Bureau, Liu Lirong, Deputy Chief of Integrated Coordination Management Section of Foshan Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Yang Tao, Member of Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of Shiwan Town Community Office, Ruan Xiaojia, Director of Guangdong Shiwan Pottery Museum, Pan Bolin, Chinese Master of Art and Crafts, and Li Xiaoru, Member of the Calligraphy Professional Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Calligraphers Association, as well as Zhang Ying, General Manager of the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, Huo Dayan, Secretary General of Shiwan Cultural Promotion Association, Su Naiguan, Inheritor of Dragon Kiln Firewood-Buring Technology, and Meng Wende, Inheritor of Dragon Kiln Construction.

In order to commemorate this important moment, the leaders affixes the signatures and blessings on a special memorial pottery plate, put the plate into the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, and then held a grand ignition ceremony.
The leaders introduced the scorching flames from the God of Fire to the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, and prayed that the Dragon Kiln would present more kiln treasures, and that the coming year would be auspicious and prosperous.
Li Xiaoru, Member of the Calligraphy Professional Committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Calligraphers Association, personally presented a handwritten inscription to the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln.
The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, born in 1506, has been endless fired in the history of more than 500 years, which is known as the "Living Cultural Relics in the World". Therefore, the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln has won the Guinness Record. In December 2019, the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, as the only representative project of Guangdong Province, was identified as "National Industrial Heritage" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, becoming the first unit in Guangdong to receive this title, which gave a great presentation in the industrial tourism of Guangdong.

And from the first day to the seventh day of the Spring Festival, the wonderful programs of the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln will be performed in a cycle every day, such as pottery throwing, Chinese calligraphy, fantastic magic and happy clowns. During the Spring Festival, the Pottery DIY will be open normally, where the visitors may personally experience the fun of pottery!
